What's Happening at Love INC Sturgis |
Church of the Week: Shepherd's Gate |
The Ross family moved to South Dakota in 2011, where they became missionaries on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. They began a church in the little village of Red Shirt. Here they held worship services and began an addiction ministry. The Ross family was instrumental in reaching out with love and the gospel to the Red Shirt village families, and they served for six years as missionaries on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
After leaving the Reservation in January 2016, the Rosses began attending Calvary Baptist Church in Sturgis, South Dakota where Pastor Harold Holder was ministering. In April 2017, the church called Brian Ross to become their next pastor, and in June 2017, Brian began serving as the current pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. Pat Ross is an essential part of the church, and her influence is felt with the families, the ladies, and the children, and in her encouragement to Brian. The now grown Ross children continue to provide important functions at the church in teaching, music, and serving.
The church has recently undergone a name change to Shepherd’s Gate to reflect the truth that Jesus is the only way to salvation and all must enter through him. We pray for Pastor Brian and family that their heart to reach Sturgis with this truth would bear much fruit!

Understanding Our Times and the Biblical Way Forward is Dr. Tackett's most recent Biblical worldview conference. Drawn from a livestream series (7 Threats in Our Culture) and his latest video small group study (The Engagement Project), Dr. Tackett shows us from the Scripture what we are seeing play out in our culture today as we rapidly depart from Biblical foundations and exchange the Truth of God for a host of lies.
Hosted at Hills View Church in Piedmont. Click HERE to register and to get more info. |
The first part of the mission statement of Love INC is to MOBILIZE THE CHURCH. Everything Love INC Sturgis does is working toward that end, to help the Bride of Christ impact this community to see transformation in the Name of Christ. Every week we will explore a little bit about how this is accomplished.
This week, we want to talk about providing opportunities for service. Hands and feet are only good if they are put to use, and at Love INC we want to make opportunities for service more readily available. One way we do that is through our Life INC program where churches can host community members at Christian education classes. This is a great place to meet new people and start building relationships. We invite any church interested in hosting a class or event to connect with us to learn more about what it looks like to get involved!
