• Classes: start at 6:05 pm (unless otherwise noted) and range from 1 to 2 hours in length.
• Children’s Ministry: opens at 6:00 pm to allow parents to get to class on time.

General Information

♥ Love INC is a Christian nonprofit ministry that serves the Rapid City area. Love INC stands for Love In the Name of Christ.

♥ Love INC is solely funded through donations from local churches, individuals, foundations and businesses.

♥ The Life INC program and other services through Love INC are absolutely free.

♥ The principles taught in the classes will be presented from a Christian perspective. The Word of God is the basis for the Life INC program. God’s Word has the answer for each situation, no matter how difficult or hopeless it may seem.

♥ The Life INC program does NOT exist to fix your financial or other life situations, nor will our teachers or mentors do it for you. Your success will be entirely dependent upon your commitment to the program and your willingness to apply the necessary disciplines in your life.

♥ The Love INC staff, board of directors, financial mentors, and prayer warriors are committed to praying for you.

Incentives Information
The churches working with Love INC provide resources free of charge to help you as you work on improving your life. These resources are intended as an immediate reward for a work that may take awhile to see results.

Incentives
Incentives, like Farmer’s Market vouchers, are for students who attend class, arrive on time and complete homework.

Bread
Panera Bread has been gracious in donating bread and pastries to Life INC. The amount of bread varies from week to week. We ask that you take one bag of bread. If there is still some left over it will be sitting at the door on the way out. Take all that you want if there is bread available.

Program Policies
To graduate, factors such as attendance, course comprehension and completion of assignments are all taken into consideration. The instructors determine whether or not a student has graduated.

Generally speaking, you are allowed to miss 1 class session within a 8-week period. If your absences are due to extreme circumstances, please inform your instructor. We understand that occasionally you will have other commitments, and encourage you to use your absences only when absolutely necessary. Please call the Love INC office or let your instructor know beforehand if you will be absent from class. This is considered an excused absence. Many instructors will help you make this up.

Clean and Sober
Everyone attending Life INC must be clean and sober on class nights. If staff or a volunteer suspect that you are not clean or sober, they have the right to speak to you privately. If you are believed to be under the influence or drunk, you will be asked to leave for the remainder of the evening. You are welcome back when you are clean and sober. We want you to be part of the program, but we will not tolerate people in class that are abusing substances.

If you have other addictions, such as gambling, please know that while we want to help you, we are going to point you to professional providers who can assist you.

People found to be listed in the National Sex Offender Registry Public Website will not be allowed to attend Life INC classes.
Class Cancellation - Notification
If poor weather conditions occur on a class night, a decision will be made by 3:00 pm regarding the cancellation of that night’s session. An automated text and email will be sent out. You may call the Love INC office to confirm any cancellations. Cancellations will also be posted on the KOTA web page for closures.

Confidentiality
The Love INC staff has the right to verify all information disclosed throughout your involvement in the Life INC program. All personal information disclosed will remain confidential and will not be shared outside of the Love INC staff and/or Life INC partnering volunteers and agencies without your prior knowledge and consent. General information such as attendance records, resources received, and homework completion may be given without your knowledge or consent to area agencies and/or churches where you may be seeking additional assistance.

The information will be used as a means to help you create a plan of action to begin working on goals and objectives related to your current situation.

The State of South Dakota requires that Love INC staff report any threats of violence, harm to others or self, and actual/suspected child abuse or neglect to the proper authorities.

Transportation
We understand that many students lack transportation. This is an area where we want to help the best we can. Oftentimes, we are only able to provide transportation at one campus each quarter.

We ask that you text the Love INC office before noon on the day of class if you need a ride. Phone number is: 605-939-7402. Please provide the number of people in your party, address & phone number. Keep in mind that our van driver is picking up students up at different locations. Please be patient until arrival.

Life INC Children’s Ministry Guidelines
Life INC provides Children’s Ministry for infants up to 12 years old should it be age 11?, unless otherwise approved. Children’s Ministry is provided from 6:05 pm to the end of class. This service is intended only for the children of Life INC participants. The following Guidelines are in place to provide a happy, healthy environment for your children.
1. Parent/Guardians sign all the children in on our check-in system. Labels for both children and parents will be utilized.

2. When using Life INC transportation, the parent/guardian is responsible for providing and installing the appropriate car seat(s) for their child(ren).*Should we put that a Love INC will not do this?

3. We ask for the benefit of the students and their teachers that you keep your child with the Life INC Children’s Ministry and not in the Life INC classroom.

4. Please pick up your child promptly when your class is over.

5. The parent/guardian of the child must remain on the premises at all times.

6. If a child is overly disruptive or exhibits aggressive behavior towards another child or Life INC staff, parent/guardian will be notified to remove the child for the remainder of the evening. *I would like to add the steps of removal here

7. Each child must have current information on file. Any special medical conditions, including allergies, should be noted, being as specific as possible.

8. We ask that personal items not be brought into the children’s ministry room. If any items are important for the child to have, please make sure their name is on it.

9. We ask that you have a clean diaper or pull-up on your child before signing them in. *Maybe add that no volunteers will change diapers

10. Children are not allowed to have phones or electronics while participating in the Life INC Children’s Ministry. We ask that parents/guardians keep the children’s phone during the duration of Life INC night.

11. If your child exhibits any of these symptoms, please keep them home.
• FEVER: Any temperature above 99.0.
• COLD: A runny nose with colored discharge and/or a loss of energy.
• COUGH: A wet or wheezy cough can spread bacterial or viral infection.
• RASH OR SKIN IRRITATION: Poison oak, impetigo, ring worm, cold sores, head lice, and communicable diseases, etc.
• DIARRHEA and/or VOMITING
• PINK EYE: Any unusual irritation of the eye or mucous membranes.
HEAD LICE: Red bumps and/or excessively itchy scalp.

Child Photography Release Without compensation, I hereby grant permission to Love INC of the Black Hills and other participating organizations to use and re- produce photographs taken of my child. These photographs may be used for news and editorial purposes in publications, electronic reproductions (web sites), and/or brochures. In addition, I grant my permission to alter the same photos without restriction and to copyright the same. I hereby release the photographer, the journalists, and the publications or media outlets they represent, as well as Love INC and other participating organizations, from all claims and liability relating to said photographs.

Photo/Video Release Without compensation, I hereby grant permission to Love INC of the Black Hills and other participating organizations to use and re-produce photographs taken of me or my children. In addition, I grant my permission to alter the same photos without restriction and to copyright the same. On behalf of myself, my heirs, successors and assigns, my participating children, and those children of which I have been appointed to act as a legally appointed representative, I waive and release all claims for damages which we may have against Love INC, and churches, religious denominations or organizations participating in a Love INC event, and any agent or employee of any such organizations, arising from our death, injury, or illness arising from our participation. I am aware of the risks associated with volunteering or participating in Love INC of the Black Hills, including but not limited to, death or by accident, disease, weather conditions, inadequate medical services and supplies, criminal activity and random acts of violence. I voluntarily assume all such injury risks. I agree that this assumption of risk is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by law. I authorize the release of information regarding Life INC participants' attendance and graduation records. Love INC may release this information to partner agencies including but not limited to the Department of Social Services and Habitat for Humanity.
